Let's face it folks, most people on this planet wouldn't know what 
sheet film was if it bit them on the butt.  While I agree that stupidity
abounds (especially in public places, i.e. airports) and I can 
definatly understand Alan's frustration; in this instance, I would probably
be more concerned about whether the security guy knew the
difference between a handgun and hair dryer!   

As has been mentioned before in this thread:  Probably the best way avoid
problems at security checkpoints is with good planning, good communication
and good common sense.
