Re: Airline inspections

Thought this might be of interest to both groups so please excuse cross posting.
Just returned from Oaxaca, Mexico and went through numerous x-rays at O'Hare
(Chicago), Mexico City and small airports at Oaxaca and Cedar Rapids, IA. Took
PJ400 through carry on x-rays about 8 times with no fogging problem. Never asked
for hand inspection and the only place they wanted to look through the bag was in
Cedar Rapids. O'Hare did do a swipe test on outside of bag for explosives.
Anyway, because I had a Leatherman's Tool in my carry on suitcase, Mexico City
insisted I check it. Running short of time I did so without remembering that I
had 40 rolls of PJ400 in that bag. When I remembered I thought it would be ruined
by the CTX-5000 I've heard so much about. When I got to Oaxaca I took an
unexposed roll and had it processed to check. No for and no streak down the
film. Perfectly good. Just thought this info may be of use to some of you. Big
thing to me was that Mexico City will not allow even small utility tools or pocket
knives on flights. Something to keep in mind.
