wise or foolish?

HI!!!
	i'm a communication arts student and an amateur photographer from the Philippines.  i'm currently on my senior year and soon i'll be doing my thesis.  i was planning on doing a photo essay using kodak HIE. i don't have any experience with this film whatsoever.   what i know of this film i learned it from IR photographers who so kindly shared their knowledge over the internet.
	so far, i've talked with kodak philippines and they said they could help me in importing the stuff from the US.  problem is....it isn't cheap (about $9 a roll--- it could change depending on the foreign exchange rate).
        i'm really dying to push trough with this project.  but i'm having second thoughts.  i don't have the money or the time to screw up. 
i can only afford to import 30 rolls of HIE and i only have until august next year to pull this through.  now my question is....is it wise to go ahead and do it, or should i just forget about it and just try IR later on in my life?    whether or not i graduate on september '99 depends on this project.  hope you guys could help me with this.  thanks!!!
