Josh:

You've got a good start on your website. I'm considering purchase of the HP
photosmart scanner as well, so I've got a couple of techie questions if you
don't mind.

Do you find the controls for the HP scanner software OK...or limiting?

Are you tweaking the images in another image editor?

How are you saving your JPEGS? Most of them appear to have some heavy
artifacting. I'm figuring that has to do more with your choice of JPEG
software and setting rather than the scanner (or at least I hope so).

Are you using any firm numbers for setting highlights and shadows? Many of
the images seem to vary in how dark the shadows or highlights appear. If you
are interested, I've posted a chart with suggested settings (especially
useful if you are familiar with the zone system) for highlights/shadows and
skintones in RGB. It's a PDF file which can be downloaded from:

http://w3.aces.uiuc.edu/itcs/photo/ choose the "info" button from the left
column and go to that page...it's listed and right at the top. The links
page might have some useful info as well.

Are you doing your HTML coding by hand? Just curious, I'm using Homesite but
still looking for something more robust.
