I never adjust focusing for IR, myself (b&w - I haven't tried the color IR
yet). I use a #25 filter though, which lets in a lot of visible light. If
you're using a darker red filter, it might be more of an issue. Also, IR
focus may be more critical with some lenses than others. I set my meter at
ISO 200, and bracket when I can (metered exposure, -2 stops, and +2 stops).
That works for me, when I develop it as recommended.
