Extend 1/4% of the focal length of the lens.  As you can guess this isn't much. 
Unless you are using a long lens nearly all the way open, you probably won't
notice a difference.

You'll need to find your own way here because you'll need to match it with the
results you are seeking.  However, for a starting point I might recommend
setting your camera on EI 250 and meter through a #25 filter.  I've shot HIE
between EI 50 and EI 1000, so do some playing around and have fun.
