Re: Lith printing

Regarding your posting (below) Jaap,
Your reaction and enthusiasm to your first lith prints is very typical Jaap.
It opens one's eyes to a whole new way of interpreting one's pictures. BE
WARNED - this process is addictive and can seriously improve your printing
potential !!

You soon won't need to 'fight' with lith paper Jaap, when you get to learn a
few basic laws you can control it absolutely. It is often said that lith
printing is not controllable or reproducible, I don't agree with either of
these statements after having made a few thousand of them! you just need to
understand what is happening in the emulsion (which is actually simple -
just never written up before) and then it is easy.

-----------------
Yes - with my permission. That's OK. There is nothing in my first book on
pepper fogging though. That did not appear until after the book was
published - Sterling did something to their emulsion. It took quite a while
before the best way to control it was discovered.

----------
Sterling UK are just starting to repackage paper cut down to 10'' x 8'' due
to the demand here. they are also marketing a starter kit with 10 x 8 paper,
lith dev and anti pepper fogging additives plus instructions in an
'altogether' price. You can get details from Fotospeed_UK@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
--------------------
>2. What is the UK-price of the LD20 developer for 4 litres of stock

---------
As above. Fotospeed and Sterling Imaging UK are both run by John Herlinger.

-----------------
Yes, you can replenish the developer with concentrate dev. Adding the
sachets will suppress breakthrough pepper fogging but won't increase
capacity. Adding the Pot Brom sachet will greatly lengthen your dev time
too. If you need to replenish again take out half the old dev and add fresh
or the chemistry goes of track too much. There is a chapter in the new book
on this. Again it is easy when you know what is happening.

-------
ISBN number is 1 902538 02 1
UK price £19.99 available this week.
US release next spring
Holland - don't know
I'm happy to supply any signed copies, but will have to charge towards post
and the packaging -£3.50 Europe outside UK, £6.50 air-mail to US
