Tungsten light bulbs are rich in infra-red, and have very little in the
way of blue and green components. This means you do not need a red
filter when using tungsten as a light source, simply exposing the film
as though it were ISO 400 - possibly even higher.
Flash is a different matter, being much closer in composition to normal
sunlight. I find that ISO 100 with a 25 red filter works fine with
studio flash.
Has anyone else tried tungsten lighting with HIE?
