Hello, W-J,

  I hadn't heard from you in awhile, and I thought Id pass along the following,
in case you weren't aware. It was sent to a friend as part of a discussion
re:HIE. The syntax and content may look a little strange as a result :

Warning - Kodak is having problems with the manufacture of HIE in 4x5, and has
had for some time. The symptom is pinholes in the developed emulsion.

This information came straight from Kodak in Rochester, and the status
is this: as of three weeks ago, they have been unable to correct the problem. 

To all those who have had success with one or another developer and methodology
combinations, I'll offer that Kodak says the problem has been devilishly
variable from batch to batch. Some better than others, but none have been
perfect.

They indicate they are "working on it".

I wrote them again a few days ago, asking for an update, but haven't heard from
them.
