Hi, Larry

Rodinal is our standard developer, just for the nice crisp grain it
gives. A part used bottle will darken in colour, but it has to be
extremely dark before it loses activity very much. We keep ours in the
refrigerator, but don't know how much it helps.

Most other developer concentrates are spoiled when they get much colour
but Rodinal is not like that. If you like the results, just keep using
it, and watch your neg density. If it starts to fall off a little, look
at the colour of the concentrate. This is when to ditch it next time! As
George says, a year of shelf life part-used is perfectly feasible.
