I live on the Candian side of the border, about a 2 hour drive from
Detriot, but much of my family comes from the Detriot/Windsor area, so I
know it well.

Close by, the St, Clair River is worth a drive. All of the large ships
that travel though the Great Lakes use the river. Normally by this time of
year shippign has stopped due to ice, but we have had a warmer than normal
year, up untilla bout two weeks ago, so the ships may still be travelling.

Along both the US and the Canadian side of the river, it is a strange mix
of both the scenic and the industrial. For example, about an hour's drive
north of Detriot on teh Candain sid is the town fo Sarnia, where the
majority of th Candain chemical chemical production takes place. If you
liek industrial shots, day or night, Dow, Bayer, etc all ahve huge chemical
plants.
Inside Detriot itself there are many old, famous building. Well, not as
old as you have in Europe, but old to us.
Places like the Fox Theatre, the Detriot Institute of Arts, and maore.
Again Detriot is a werid mix of the old, burnt out, the historic, and the new.

>Does anybody know some places to go and take some IR shots?

We are cold right now, but low on snow, and th eleaves are all off the
trees. However, there are evergreens around. Anywhere along the Lake
Mivchigan, Lake Huron or Lake Erie shorelines, US or Canadian side will
provide ample opportunity.

>Or does anybody have a recommendation to get the negs developed?

That I do not know. If you are desperate, and do not mind a 2 to 2.5 hour
dirve into Canada, I have the world's smallest darkroom (or maybe it just
feels that way), but I develop HIE, HSI, and Konica 750 in medium format,
your choice of Rodinal to Xtol or more.
