Infrared Focussing

My experience with shooting infrared movies on my camcorder bears out this
'theory' about auto-focussing:
Many autofocus sysyetms rely on obtaining maximum contrast in an image.
This means that as ling as the focus sensor can see an image it will focus
on it. So if you block out all visible light the sensor will see the
infrared light and will focus with that. Assuming it is a CCD it will be
(to some extent) sensitive to IR and the sensor doesn'y actually know or
care what wavelengthws of light it sees, as long as it sees them.
I'll have to try my F90 autofocus through the Hoya 72.
