Bill,

I am sure that my experience will be similar (i hope). However, I am new to
IR film and so for the first few rolls I am using a commercial developer so
I can concentrate on getting good film exposures without adding the
developing mess to the whole experience. That way when I do get to
developing my own film I will be confident that I'm in the ballpark
exposure wise.

Not that it's rock science, but there is enough variables associated with
photographing with IR film as far as the capturing images on film that
treating photographing and developing separately allows me to get one
aspect nailed before going to the next aspect.

Perhaps I'm just conservative :)

David Lee posts, on new-to-IR stuff ...

I am just now getting comfortable with
developing B&W film and I am somewhat leery of developing the IR film
myself (...at least to start with).

FWIW, the first roll of film I developed was HIE in D-76
Came out just fine using "generic" recommendations on the
	info sheet.
