I believe Sony make these specifically for this use, (I presume these are
not the one's talked about?).  They just fit onto the "hot shoe" on the
cam-corder and run from their battery.  If something stronger is needed I
would speak to a few suppliers for security equipment, as they could well
sell IR floodlights for security surveillance, though the problem would be
it would have to run from the mains.
