I do this in two ways when it suits.
1) is to under develop and get thin flattish negs which I then print on Gr.5
with a pre dev bleach to bring down contrast to say gr.2 but hold bright
highlights of gr5 - which is actually a gr. 3.5 on account of the
development.
2) of course is lith printing which gives wonderfully smooth creamy
highlights/mid tones with hard shadows (if required)
