I interviewed Kodak's head IR guy a couple of years ago for my article (I forget
his name).  He explained that AR5 processing will yield exacting colors that can
be measured.  These measurements will be thrown off if the film is not loaded in
darkness.  I'm just glad that I can process this film myself - something I
really couldn't do when E4 processing was required.
