I purchase all of my photographic supplies from B&H Photo, in New York. Price
for a box of 4X5 was $45 (US) the last time I purchased. My experience with
Kodak, as well as everyone whom I have known personally, has been very
positive. Perhaps Kodak Canada is a different situation - I don't know. I
would have gone around them and addressed my concerns directly with Rochester.
The comment that "HIE is especially sensitive to 'ageing', regardless of the
storage temperature" just doesn't wash with my experience. I have three rolls
of HIE that expired in 1991 before I start on the batch that expired back in
1997. I've had absolutely no problems with this older film.
As I said, it sounds to me like it's time to go directly to Rochester to get
your problem resolved. I've had problems with other companies, but never with
Kodak.
