Xtol Developer

Help!...been reading the threads on developer here and decided to give some
different soups a try with Kodak HIE. I just tried Xtol at 1 to 1, 70
degrees F, for 8.25 minutes on a roll. The whole roll was grossly
underdeveloped. The times and temps were out of one of the current infrared
books, so I hope they are right....but....
Can anyone suggest times and temps on Xtol that they have used with
success? I'm hoping my thermometers and timers are still ok, because these
results were way out of the box. I know I've seen some working times here
in the past.Thanks!
