Thermasilk Comercial; Is it thermal imaging or solarization?

I've seen some really cool commercials here in the
United States for Thermasilk Hair Products, like
shampoo and conditioners. Has anyone else seen these
images? It looks like they were done with a thermal
imaging system. However, the one thing that confuses
me is that particular things that should have a fairly
uniform temperature have a wide variety of colors in
them. For instance the women's hair has a rainbow of
colors in it. Seems to me like the temperature of her
hair should be fairly consistent, and thus a uniform
color.

Maybe it's just some kind of solarization technique?
If anyone can explain how it is done I'd really
appreciate it. I'd love to get this effect on film!

Peace Rolland Elliott
