I got a 1987 vintage Nikon 2020 from a friend 4 years ago and I consider it
about as "new" as I want to own! As another example of what I was talking
about, look at the new Hasselblad XPAN. A $2000 dollar camera that can do
quasi-panorama shots. It looks like a great tool for the IR photographer,
but then I found out it fogs the film like crazy because whoever built the
thing didn't have the mind to put film advance sensor in a better place! Why
should one pay top dollar for such poor designs when there are so many older
cameras out there better for IR shooting?
