EIR and Scratches

I had my second roll of EIR processed this week having changed pro-labs
since the first lab had slow expensive service, refused to mount the
slides, and returned the film with two deep scratches the entire length of
the roll. The second lab did better with overnight service, mounts, and no
surcharge. However, the film has a multitude of shallow intermittent
scratches. Both labs use dip and dunk processing to the best of my
knowledge. Is EIR more prone to scratches than other E-6 emulsions? Is
there something these labs could be doing differently to prevent
scratching? Thanks for any input.
