The #87C is made from the same 0.4mm thick polyester as the BTFR
filters....sturdy and scratch-resistant enough to sit in the filter
holder on its own.
Note that I can make other colors as well, all hard resin, from my
202-filter-info-file:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Filter colors available for Horizon 202:

'#' = Kodak Wratten filter system

  #21 orange

  #25 red

#87C infrared [opaque, for Kodak HIE black & white infrared only]

  polaroid [requires adjusting outside camera]

  #85C color conversion

  #81B warming

  #81C warming

  CC30M (fluorescent tube correction)

Working on other colors, like

  #89B dark red

  enhancement/color-intensifier

  color-polarisation (a la Cokin/Hoya vario-color pol)

#12 medium-yellow [for Kodak EIR color infrared]
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Also note that work-around solutions are possible for any other
color, simply by sandwiching a thin piece of foil over a factory clear/UV
disc....not the best solution in optics/scratch-resistance, but a #12
has been working that way for me as a temporarily solution (still
looking for a hard resin solution though).

As for making them: cutting the filters in this size was one of the
major challenges when I started all this....with different solutions
& procedures for different materials....still labor-intensive and a
significant amount of wasted/broken material, that's why they are not
cheap (US$15 for filter disc only; modifying the filter holder to
make the discs user-changeable is the same price, for the same reason
(labor)).

PS: next time please change the subject-header....IR-digest xxxx is
not very descriptive....8-))
