That is correct. I don't think the thicker filter would allow the backs to latch.
As I said I have to be careful even with the 0.1mm filter. You might be able to
mount one inside the magazine opening (BTFR in other words) but I wanted the filter
as far from the film plane as was feasible to minimize dust and scratch effects on
the film.
