The negs I've made with XTOL at the recommended times have very extremely
flat. At 1:1 dilution at 80 degrees, it recommends 5.5 minutes, but I've
begun developing it for 8 minutes, and it's much easier to print now. I can
use a #3 filter, rather than doubling up a #5 with a #4.5 filter. Your
results may vary, as is the case with infrared (and b&w, and even color,
but far more so with IR). You may see if they'll do a clip test or
something like that for you, sacrificing the first shot or two, to increase
the chances drastically for the rest of the roll turning out well.
