Don,

I have been using HSI now for about 8-10 years and I am sorry to say this
but have never had a problem like that before. Most people just have
problems with finger prints on the film and the dredded 'spots'. Which
thankfully I have not experienced this year (YET!)

When you were loading this film did it feal as if it were staticly charged?
Are the 'scratches' in just one direction or more random which could
indicate static. What processing method are you using?

One thing that might be worth trying is if it appeard on all the film's try
just fogging a sheet (without it going in a dark slide) and processing it
straight away to see if they appear then, as it could always be a film
fault.

I hope you can get this problem fixed.

My first question is about 4x5 HIE. It seems to be extremely sensitive to
static charges. At first I thought I had severe scratching but I can see no
abrasions on the emulsion side of the film or the base side. The scratches
appear to be inside the emulsion hence my feeling that this is caused by
static.

Is any one using this film? What experiences with this problem can anyone
comment on?

Thanks,

Don Bryant
