Thanks for the encouragement I'll continue to try and eliminate variables.
One thing for sure is that it is not related to one particular holder. All
of my holders are Fidelity or Lisco and are all but new. Perhaps I'll drag
one of my old Riteway holders out and see if that helps. BTW Jason. what
kind of 4x5 camera are you using? I see you are in the UK. I'm using a
Wisner Traditional but I had to purchase the special IR proof bellows as the
regular double extension bellows "leaks" IR. And boy does it!
This is my first box of 4x5 HIE and for the most part my exposures are
beautiful. I cut my teeth on 35mm HIE and I was able to use the same
processing time for the sheet film as I did the roll film. My basic exposure
is different though. BTW, I never use a meter as I always expose by
experience. Once learned you miss very few shots. With 4x5 I've only used a
#25 red. I'll have some questions about other filters later.
I know at one time on this list there was talk of getting a special order up
for 8x10 HIE. Did anything ever happen that?
