It would depend on the wavelength of the IR LED but in my experience the answer
to this question is yes. The "rays" themselves would not show up but if you
were aiming the remote directly at the lens in a totally dark room and opened
the shutter on "B" you could probably "track" the flashing IR signals emitted
by the controller as you moved it about.

Much like tracking a flashlight with "regular" film axcept that there you can
see that the flashlight lights up the dark room. IR controllers emit flashes of
light at various frequencies to make the controlled device do certain things.
Those gadgets have a frequency counter/decoder built in.
