Jason,
The Sterling paper has an almost eggshell finish to it, and although a
fibre-based paper probably doesn't have the heavy texture that you are
looking for.
Have been tempted to try and make some paper using a heavy texture in the
past using a glass rod and some homebrew mixture. That's what comes of
reading a lot of old books on the subject :-) The idea of successfully
using a non-recommended paper such as a heavy watercolour cartridge paper
has always been lodged in the back of my mind as a challenge.
Perhaps Tim has some words of wisdom on the subject - you can bet he has
played around with homebrew......
