For all those references to the 135W film backs there is a slight error in
the thinking of the construction. My new film back arrived a few days ago.
I loaded it up with some Ilford asa 100 film just to test. I attached the
back to my camera, took out the dark slide and heard a little
"ccrrunnnnch." When I went to put the darkslide back in, I found I
couldn't.
To make a looong story short, I took the back apart and found that there is
only one very thin piece of felt that is covered by several pieces of
flexible aluminum. So when you put the darkslide in, the aluminum flaps
flatten. One of mine was destroyed, so I took it out.
I have since burned more b&w film in it without a problem, however I do
want to replace the aluminum strip when I get a chance.
Hope you all have better luck with new film backs.
PS: If anyone has a 70mm back for sale for the ETRS, please let me know.
