Pinholes in film base.

Folks,

As if we haven't beaten this dead horse enough, I was just reading a book by Theresa Airey, "Creative Photo Printmaking".  She mentioned that using an acidic stop bath with HIE can cause pinholes in the film and that she uses plain water to avoid this, comments?
