The time that I got the dense band of small clear spots on the 35 mm HIE the
film was developed in 72 degree solution, fixed in a non-hardening fixer,
and washed in 80 degree water. The 80 degrees was the lowest I could get
here during the summer.
The idea of reticulation did not occur to me since it was not the whole
negative. It occurred to a strip along the roll that was about 1/3 the
width of the negative.
My darkroom is air-conditioned to about 70 degrees. I have modified the
water supply by running it through 150 foot of garden hose. The hose is
full of water at 70 degrees. I also use Kodak Rapid Fixer with the hardener
added.
