There is a series of automobile ads on TV in the States that looks
like it was shot on infared film - I believe it was Mercedes Benz. In one,
the Roman god Mercury is in the desert racing a cannonball when both are
passed by a Benz that just comes cruising by. Then Mercury comes to a stop
and the cannonball falls to the ground - both rather dejected by being
passed by the car like they were standing still. In the second, a Benz ATV
comes driving down a ramp from a Zeppelin in the black sky into a field of
white foliage. Anyone else see this and know if it is on infared (or an
extended red) film, or some other type of film that was doctored via
filtration or digital post-filming means? If it was shot on infared, then
it appears that it is still available. If not, then there is a way of using
some other film to get the effects you want to make infared moving pictures,
other than taking the infared prints you already have and flicking then
between your fingers really fast like a deck of cards... ;)
