Haze shouldn't appear....even without filter, Konica should do a 
decent job in the contrast-department. #25 is a good start, #89B a 
good compromise between speed and IR-effect.

That depends on your patience....if you can handle 1ASA (tripod!), then it 
might work for you. But not if you are looking for HIE-effects in 
respect to the famous halo's and grain.

It's the burden of photography that the best shots are taken at 
sunrise....sunset has already a lesser contrast by all the dust and 
moisture in the air (the reason why sunsets are more red than sunrise 
in the first place). 
Also note that the *relative* amount of IR is larger early in the 
morning or late in the afternoon, compared to high-noon.
