I usually use an 87 with Konica, but even with no filter or just
an orange filter, I haven't had a problem with haze.  

One thought, though: have you tried shooting *fresh* Konica
750?  It could be that the outdated film isn't worth $2 a roll
if poor storage has left it fogged.

It does keep very well if frozen or refrigerated, but do you
know how well the outdated stock has been handled?  Short-term
heat isn't a problem -- as with HIE, I've had no trouble keeping
Konica in my car for a week in 100 F weather.
