I should just like to qualify this answer (above) Now it has come back to me
via the group I see it might be misleading. Pull/push techniques usually
involve adjustments in both exposure and development. It is of course the
development part of this exercise which has the major effect on the building
up of grain size as development proceeds.
I would also endorse the recommendation that you conduct experiments over a
wide range of film speed ratings and developments. Study the effects closely
and you will really get to know the nature of the film and what it can do.
You may not be after the same results as somebody else, and if you just
follow their procedures you may not get want you specifically want.
