I'm one of those who "claim" to have not seen this pinhole problem. My
typical print is 11X14 with a condensor enlarger, and I have yet to see the
problem. As I mentioned before, however, this may be a relatively recent
difficulty. I buy numerous boxes at once during the winter, to remove any
possibility of the film sitting on a hot loading dock for days (not that
this might be a big problem, but it just eliminates a possibility). The
current boxes I am using expired in November 1997, which is no problem, as I
keep the film frozen until it is time to open the box. I use Riteway
holders, as they have five raised dots on the slide.

I did have a problem with dust a while back, which is wht I questioned this
at the beginning. It seems to me that HSI is more prone to dust problems.
I found that vaccuuming my slide holders and slides before loading resolved
this problem as well as could be expected.

I figure to have almost two years of HSI set aside at this point, so
possibly when I run out, if this is a recent problem, I may see this
problem.
