Never a problem with pinholes???

Greetings to the list,
I've seen the postings with the claims that some of our members have
shot hundreds of sheets of film and 'never' encountered problems with
pinholes. To me, this is nothing short of remarkable. It's almost like
saying I never get wet when I take a shower. Don't get me wrong, I don't
intend to question the credibility of anyone, but I am wondering whether or
not we are discussion the exact same manufacturing defect.
I wish I (or anyone with the required hardware) could find a way to
scan an affected sheet of film and post it so that every one could see to
what we are referring. When I speak of pinholes, I don't mean always the
little spots that looks like air bubbles. Sometimes they are much smaller
and perhaps they are only noticable to some people IF you enlarge the neg to
anything over 11x14. Myself, I can make the flaws out from the negative
itself.
Another question I have for the folks who don't have problems with
pinholes is this: what are you using for an enlarger- I VERY much suspect
that using a diffusion source or coldlight would really minimize this
problem enormously, perhaps to the point where it does not even exist.
Still another thought was on the type of film holders used for HSI-
while this might be an issue for fogging, which is quite another matter
altogether, I really can't imagine that it could create a problem with
pinholes. To me that would be out of the question, but then again I'm not a
scientist, either.
These are just a few things that I wanted to throw out there.
    Thanks again,
Clark aka The Great Canadian Beaver Trap Thief (not just ANY ol'
thief!!!!!)
