I understand your problems. Have a look at my homepage (see footer of
this message) where you can see how I develop my HIE with excellent
results. It's especially written for the beginner. You'll find
everything in short about exposure, filters, development, dilution,
temperature etc. In most of the reactions on your message I did not find
any info about the dilution of the developer! It's not complete when is
stated that XTOL, D76, HC110 etc. etc. is used. The dilution must be
there as well. It makes a lot of difference when you develop in full
strength, 1 : 1 or 1 : 2. For your info I use XTOL diluted at 1 : 1 at
20 degrees Celsius. Hope this will help you.
