paterson reels

I use the Paterson tanks and reel system for most of my IR work. I had
always used good stainless reels and tanks, but found the stainless reels
to be tougher to load with the IR film since its so much thinner. My only
complaint with the plastic reels is they must be absolutely dry before you
try loading IR on. I do cut the corners of the film, it seems to help. I've
also been dunking the whole thing (film and reels) into PhotoFlo, sofar
with no damage - however I do rinse the reels immediately afterwards with
hot soapy water (plain old dish detergent) and then air dry them. The
little rollers for the loading still are turning, but I could see where
this could be a problem.
