X-Ray machines in the US will have no affect on your HIE.  By simply placing the film in
with your carry-on luggage (do not put your film in with checked-in luggage) you will not
invoke any suspicion.  Doing otherwise will alert them to possible problems.

I hope your roll didn't get fogged.
