Carl Schofield,
Bravo. Wonderful. It looks like the Coolpix chip has a nice long IR range. Did
you capture this in a Greyscale mode or Color? My experience has been that the
digital color mode capture has the longer dynamic range Isn't it amazing that
almost all digital chips see so well into the IR spectrum? I've been using the
Phase One digital camera with a 87c Kodak gel. I have to take off the special
dichroic blue filter (which blocks out the offending red +spectrum for normal
color intergrity) and find nearly normal shutter speeds. Sounds like you slow the
Coolpix 950 down. I wonder if there is an internal blueish filter that is
removable on the Coolpix to speed things up?
And how usable is a 5.5MB file other than the web and snapshot size output?
Spread the digital IR word,
Les Jorgensen
