HIE Antihalation etc.

I have no doubt that some of the problems people have had with
HIE are in the film, not the processing.  After having spots on
one roll, and noticing what looked like small holes in the
emulsion, I carefully cut off the trailing end of the next roll
before processing -- under a microscope, the surface of the film
was definitely uneven in small spots, and that was unprocessed
film.  None of the spots on that roll caused problems with any of
my pictures, and I didn't have a continuing problem with it, so I
didn't follow through further.
