The problem with "slack" in giving advice when you are the manufacturer is that
the consumer will hold you responsible for problems resulting from a loose
interpretation of what is appropriate and what is not. In the case of how much
"light" there can be around when loading color or B&W IR film, if they said
moderate amounts ... you know it: someone's moderate amount may be somebody
else's huge amount. This simply leads to problems.
Sophisticated users can decide for themselves what a moderate amount is but do
not hold a manufacturer responsible for trouble if they say NONE and we use
SOME. The truth is I use "some" ... and take my lumps when my guesstimation is
incorrect.
