Why not try just leaving the zipper open. Unless you're loading sheet film 
you don't really need total darkness, you're just trying to protect the one 
small opening on a film canister from direct light. A reasonable sized bag 
will allow the changing of a 35mm film on your lap with minimal light 
entering the bag, especially if the end of the bag hangs over your knees.
