Re: Aculux and D76 Logevity
>>> Clive Warren <Clive.Warren@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> 11/1/99 8:45:22 AM >>>
Dear All,
Have posted this question elsewhere but thought maybe someone here would
have an good idea as to the answer.
Recently was given a whole load of Patterson Aculux and Kodak D76 film
developer in the original packaging - tins for most of the D76 and plastic
bottles for the Aculux. This is all new and sealed but has no markings to
indicate age.
Well the D76 will be great for HIE and the Aculux for Konica film perhaps.
Does anyone know the shelf life of the developers as supplied by the
manufacturers?
Guess to determine the exact age of the stock will have to approach the
manufacturers. We could be talking up to ten years :-)
All the best,

powder chemicals have an indefinite shelf life as long as they aren't contaiminated by other materials. isn't much in the D-76 that's a problem. look for rust in the tins.
liquids in plastic bottles are more problematic. if sealed and no air, shouldn't be a problem. if you know what color is should be stock, look for color variations. that's a pretty quick cheap indicator of problems.
