Ah, but none of those films are HIE :) ... the Konica does
"get out into" the IR spectrum a bit, but the others are hardly to
be considered as IR sensitive, more just extended red frequency
sensitivity b&w emulsions. This is not to malign these films, just
to point out that they are not a fair comparison to HIE which is
a true IR sensitive emulsion. The Konica also has an anti-halation
layer which the HIE doesn't, as I recall.
Any old 35mm manual, meterless camera body of good manufacture will
suffice for IR, as the exposure can be done w/o metering. I use an
ancient Pentax H2 screwmount body, circa 1959 w/ backing paper from
Agfa 25 120 film Scotch-taped across the pressure plate. No problems.
