My first attempt with infrared type films was shooting a roll of Ilford SFX
200. Naturally my camera was set at ISO 200. When I next put in the HIE I
forgot that the camera was not going to set the speed for me (I'm relatively
new at this) so the roll was shot at 200. Great first roll of infrared. It
was a clear cold sunny November afternoon here in New Jersey. I was hooked!
Now I understand why the 200 setting worked for me. Jan
