I've noticed that _complete_ darknesss is not actually required for Kodak
HIE. I change IR film under my jacket or just in a camera bag covered by by
something:
1. Open bag
2. Place camera and film in the bag
3. Cover bag with some cloth (your jacket, t-shirt, anything), preferably
dark. In direct sunlight try put the bag in a shadow or yourself
4. Change the film.
5. For added safety you can skip first frame.
It is even possible to change film indoors without a bag. Indoors means "no
sunlight". I've successfully changed IR film in public restrooms with
fluorescent lighting which has almost no red light.
