Infrared with an EOS 3

I am really wanting to get into IR photography--B&W and Color.  However,
from all I have read, IR film will fog with an EOS-3 camera--and I
understand why.  But, has anyone still used IR with this great camera?
Does all the film fog?  Do I really need to use a non IR-sprocket
finding camera?

Thanks for anyone's suggestion and help.
