Actually, unless it's a poorly made camera, you shouldn't have any problem
from that. I've done IR in 3 cameras, a Minolta 500si, 800si, and now a 9.
The 500si had fogging from the IR film counter, but no problem from the ISO
window. The 800si had a mechanical film-counter, though I had a problem
with two small rectangular holes (for the data-back feature, even though it
didn't have that feature) causing some darkening (this problem can be
solved by using the right kind of semi-reflective black tape over the
pressure plate. The 9 doesn't have the IR film counter or the
pressure-plate holes, but it does have the ISO window, as most 35mm cameras
do - I've found no problem at all. Unless the foam around the window is
crumbling away, you can probably safely remove the tape from your camera.
